Freedomware Gamefest 2007 presents: OpenArena and Nexuiz

Blood pumping, action packed, fast paced and merciless are just some of the words we can use to describe these two incredible first person shooters that are 100% Free Software.

OpenArena is the first project to successfully create completely free game art and data to go with the Quake III Arena engine whose source code was released by ID as Free Software last year, completing a fully free game that is not only as good as original Quake III Arena, but builds on it even further.

It features a number of game modes including Free For all, Team Deathmatch, Tournament and Capture The Flag. Just as any quake it also supports various modes which can further expand the game play in various interesting directions.

Freedomware Gamefest 2007 will feature two OpenArena tournaments: a sole 1vs1 tournament and a team Capture The Flag tournament.

Developed by a team of developers called AlienTrap, Nexuiz is a modern, first class and versatile first person shooter game with stunning graphics, effects and game play. It has many game modes, possibly more than most FPS games, including Classic Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Domination, Capture The Flag, Rune Match, Last Man Standing, Arena and Key Hunt all interesting and special in their own ways.

In this festival we will have two Nexuiz tournaments, just as with OpenArena, one for sole players who like to work alone and one for those who prefer teams. The first is a 1vs1 tournament and second is also capture the flag.

Of course, each player can choose to participate in as many tournaments as you wish, so you can be in both.. or even in both tournaments of both games. :)

Note also that both of these games are cross platforms. This means Windows and Mac users are welcome to join as well!

However, the time is running up. With less than a day, this is your last chance to sign up and confirm your participation.

Thank you
